Hey! I almost cried when you told me about Cody's dad. That is so
cool! I knew he had gotten his reccomend back but I didn't know it was
on their anniversary! It is so cool to see the atonement in action.
There is a couple, one of them was baptized a little over a year ago
in Portland. The Hathaway family, who fed us like every sunday! They
are an awesome family! Anyway, Sis Hathaway had been less active for
along time, and they were able to go through the temple a week or two
ago. That is what I love about missionary work! To be able to see the
progress overtime.
Well, I am excited for November! I will admit I am a little nervous
about how much we'll have to do in so little time, but I am just going
to trust that it will all work out. :)
We had a pretty good week though. We had a member come out with us,
and he wanted to go visit a part member family he knew. We were only
able to visit for about 15 minutes but we were able to get a return
appointment to teach her husband the discussions! I am excited about
that! She is a really nice girl, and she told us she isn't even sure
why she isn't active because she knows the church is true. Sometimes
all they need is to feel the spirit again, and a loving push to come.
We also got to have Sister Hutchings come out with us on exchanges
last night, and we had a good lesson with Evelyn. She is such a great
lady and we decided we are going to pray that she will have an
experience on her own where she will know that she needs to be
baptized. The spirit was really strong during the lesson, and I know
she felt it, but she feels like she is too old to change religions,
haha.
I hit my 14 month mark yesterday! 4 more months to go! And only 3 more
transfers after the next two weeks. I have a feeling it is going to go
by way fast. So yeah, life is good!
There were some pretty severe thunderstorms that I am sure you heard
were causing tornadoes especially in Oklahoma and I think Mississippi,
that came over us but we didn't have any damage here in Franklin. I
really love the storms, haha! The storms we have had in Utah don't
compare at all.. I am going to miss that about here!
Well, I don't think I have much else to say.. that I can remember at
the moment!
I love you!

Well, hi!
This week we set another date, with Terry's friend Rick. Only problem is... he lives in Nashville. Haha, now if we oculd just find someone IN our area to set a date with! :) Life is good though. I am starting to feel anxious to leave this area, kinda getting tired of the routine. BUT I am good. The past two days have been a record high for this time of the year, 92 degrees! I don't appreciate it at all! Today is in the 70's again thank goodness. It was a small reminder of how awful the summers are here, haha. One more, I can do it! Brother Ross just had surgery in his mouth, he had a tumor removed. The poor thing has had one thing after another! Then yesterday, Sister Ross noticed her ceiling was dripping water, and found out the pan that holds the condescension from the air conditioner was bowed, so they had to turn the air off for the day and tried to fix it. They have been really good to us living in their home!
Someone is blasting some really loud rock music here in the library.. it is a little distracting! I can't really remember what happened last week, it went by so fast. Hey, did Sylvia adopt a girl..? I am a little confused. I saw some posts on facebook and I am just wondering. (Yes Sylvia and Troy are going through the adoption process.) I could tell you about the tornado warning, but you already saw it on my blog, haha. I feel like you get more from my blogs than my letters now! We went to the relief society birthday party and I ate some seaweed! It was actually not too bad. Apparently they put rice and meat in it for a little asian taco! I also ate baby bok choy and it was actually really good! Then Sis Hefner gave a really good presentation of the history of relief society and did a really good job. Normally that would bore me to death, but she made it really interesting. She talked about how after the Relief Society was organized that alot of blessings came to women all over the world, that relief society was not just a blessings for members of the church. For instance, job opportunities, and being able to vote. Then she talked about how it isn't just a program to fill our time and go to when we have a chance, but that it is something we need to belong to, to develop friendships with other women because we have such a great impact on each other. Anyway, I really liked it!
Mom, I have really been missing your cooking for the past month or so. Southern food is good and all, but its nothing like home! I probably need you to send me the recipe for the cafe rio dinner! dressing, pork, rice, all of it! Haha, I have been craving it soooooo bad. They don't have anything like that out here. Ok, haha, I have been a little bit trunky lately! I miss the mountains too, and the clean, dry air! Well, I guess I am going to stop there. :)
I love you all! And yes, I do still enjoy letters!

We finally set a baptismal date with someone! We had a good lesson with Terry and for the first time he told us he believed what we were teaching was true! So we told him to pray about being baptized on April 30th, and then we called him the next morning and he said he felt good about it! He also came to BOTH sessions of general conference yesterday! Terry is a very nice guy, he has a really good heart, and has been through some pretty rough things in his life. Keep him in your prayers because once a date is set, opposition will come! So that is the most exciting news! I really enjoyed conference. It was interesting because I tried to guess what the general theme of conference would be and I was right! I loved hearing Elder Scott talk about his wife. I like it when you get to see their more personal side of life.
We also had dinner with a less active/part member family this past week and it went really well. They were such a nice family and they want us to come back. I don't know how often we'll get to see them because the husband works alot and told us April is a really busy month. Life is pretty good though! Time really seems to be going faster and faster, after this week we'll already be 1/2 way through another transfer and then all I have left is 3 transfers. President Hutchings will be going home in June too, which is really sad. He has been such a great mission president.
I have been extra tired lately, and I am not sure if it is the pollen, the fact that I have been out for a long time, the time change, or what, I guess it is a combination of everything, but I feel like I could go home and sleep for a year, haha. Things are going good though. I am starting to feel like I can't remember much about home, I think it is going to be strange to go back to the hot dry desert. The thunder is rolling right now and I love it! it makes me really excited! The thunder here is so cool, it actually rolls for more than a few seconds because there aren't any mountains to dull the sound. Anyways, I think that is all I have for now!
I love you!

Hello!
It is good to hear about all the baby blessings I am missing, haha! I have a feeling I am going to come home and not remember who everyone is! This past week was a pretty okay week I guess. I was not expecting the news about Fernando! I hope Katie and Ryan are doing alright. I have been keeping them in my prayers. I am really starting to feel that I have been in this area for too long! Or at least longer than any other area I've been in. We were able to teach a new guy, who actually lives in Nashville but he was over at one of our investigator's house. We had an awesome lesson with him, and he told us what we were saying makes sense and he felt the spirit! He usually visits Terry every friday so we told him we could teach him there again! I am really excited for general conference weekend! It is always nice to slow down for a few hours and let someone else do the teaching! :)
Other than that, we've really just been doing the same old thing here. We are going to try to switch it up this week and try some new ideas for getting new investigators. It's really hard in a rich area, but I might just be complaining and making up excuses, haha. But we have got to do something because we need to set some baptism dates, it has been too long! Cody has been in Harrogate for the last 6 months too, and I can tell he is ready to move on to a new area. I think his transfers are next week, so hopefully he'll get to go somewhere new. He seems to be doing okay though! Hmm, Well, I can't think of what else happened this week. We had a pretty good thunderstorm... ha, and I keep having dreams about tornadoes! Hopefully thats not a warning for what may happen in the near future!
Well I love you all!

Hello!
First news first, looks like I'll be here in franklin for 6 months! I have another 6 weeks here. Not what I thought at all! On friday I felt like I was going to be transferred and felt like I had done what I needed to here, but apparently not haha. WHo knew Franklin would be the area I'd spend 6 months in? So, I get to kill off two sisters in a row. Don't be surprised if I start to feel a little trunky! I am doing good though. We had a pretty good week, although I wound up with hayfever and my ears are still plugged! But I feel a lot better now. We had a specialized training meeting with just us and the zone leaders on thursday from 9 am to about 4:30 pm, role playing. About 7 hours of role playing! Man it was crazy. The purpose of it was we had to role play until we had an amazingly powerful lesson where the spirit was strong. We were supposed to learn how to recognize and use the spirit more effectively and it was intense! A little frustrating too, but I learned alot. Saturday we helped Evelyn pull weeds in her yard, and it was quite nice to have an outlet for a few hours to do some physical labor. Who knew I'd enjoy pulling weeds?! We talked to Mary yesterday at church and she told us she is still intending to get baptized, but she didn't want to set a date because she doesn't want it to drop again. So we are going to start visiting her again! We stopped by one of the less active members we had contacted a couple weeks ago that we hadn't been able to get a hold of and they were home and we finally got a return appointment for tuesday!
Yesterday we had a special fast for an elder's mom on sunday and I wanted to share this so that you could see the power of fasting. His mom was in a bike accident and had been in a coma with no sign of improvement for several days in a row. So President Hutchings invited us to fast for her, and as a result his mom was able to come off the machines and opened her eyes at about 3 pm yesterday, which was the time the entire mission stopped where they were to end our fast and pray for her. It was a powerful testimony to me that God hears and answers prayers!
I guess that is all for now! I am glad Josh liked the card, haha. I thought it was perfect for him!
I love you all! Keep me posted on anything going on!

Hey! Man, it feels good to have a p-day. I really don't know what missionary work would be without them! It's nice to be able to relax for a minute (cuz that is about how long p-days seem to last, haha). We had a good week last week. Sister Taratieru was here on an exchange! It was good to see her again and she got to see Evelyn again, and it went well. We went to a Baha'i devotional on wednesday evening and it turned out to be awesome. They were some of the most kind and welcoming people I have ever met! I guess their whole purpose is to bring people of all religions together. The devotional was interesting, I think I left more confused about their beliefs than before, but we had a great opportunity to talk to them about our faith! At the end of the devotional they actually asked Sister T and I to sing to them, and we bore our testimonies. It was way cool!
Oh, funny story! Remember how I passed out when I cut my finger in Oklahoma when there was only a little bit of blood? Well I almost passed out again. So, there we were at the Hefner's assembling those metal shelves to help her organize her house.. I pushed one of the shelves down too far and so I put my hand around the bar so that I could push the shelf back up. Not a good idea! I pushed so hard that it shot up and the inside of my hand got pinched in between the bar and the shelf. Immediately it started turning purple and swelling and it hurt REAL BAD! Then I started to feel light-headed, so I had to lay down on the ground. In walks Sis Hefner and she thought I was just tired and laid down, hahaha! I had to lay there for about 20 minutes with my feet propped. I didn't pass out thank goodness. I must be extra sensitive in my hands or something. Needless to say I have a nice bruise on my hand. I tried to take a picture of it but you can't really see anything. I am also on the verge of allergies again :( My throat has been sore for the last 3 days and today I have the thing where you need to sneeze and it doesn't come out, so it makes my eyes water, and yeah. But, I am okay! We will find out about transfers this saturday. I really have no idea whether I am staying or going. I've always been wrong, haha, so I am just going to stop guessing.
Here are some pictures of the week.
Well, I think that is all! Oh, and yes the skirt and the shirt fit! I wore it to church yesterday! Thank you! I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for your letters! it was good to hear from everyone again! I hit my 13 month mark this week! Crazy isn't it!? Oh, and it is confirmed I will fly home on Sept 7. The last day of the transfer is the 6th! Anyways, I love you guys!

when I could finally sit up!
Me and Christina Chumbly, who lives in Dickson. She is so cute! She goes on exchanges with the sisters all the time! She has a boyfriend who has down-syndrome and they are so cute! Don't you love her poodle skirt outfit? :)

Hello!
Yeah, the whole facebook thing is interesting as a missionary. I am not really sure what to do about the settings, and right now I only have one investigator on there, well from franklin anyway. His name is Parham Abdi, he is from Iran and belongs to the Bah'hai faith. Not many of our investigators have facebook. And yes, you can invite others to befriend me. We are allowed to do missionary work no matter where the person lives or what not. We try to do most of it through our area, but when an opportunity comes to teach someone else, we'll take it! I am still trying to figure it out too. Yeah, my companion is doing it too. Her name is Angela Whitehead, you could look her up if you want! :)
Well I had a good week, I got the birthday package! Thank you, I enjoyed it! We went to go visit another less active man in our ward, and met his wife LouAnn, who he has been married to for 16 years and she accepted to take the discussions! That is two from less active members in our teaching pool now! She was very nice and seemed excited about taking the discussions. Yay, finally! We are down to the last two weeks of the transfer now, and I'll find out next saturday what will happen. I am honestly not sure what will happen but I only have 4 transfers left! So I may only hove one or two more areas. It really is starting to go fast!
We ate dinner at the Alberts this week and in the middle of dinner we heard a little chirping noise. We looked down and there was a baby chicken running around inside their house! Haha, it was so cute. I guess Sis Albert tries to keep it in one room, and she keeps it in there because it is still too small to survive on its own outside but somehow it got out. It follows her around like a little puppy! Then they let us see their baby goats, whose mother died, and they were so cute! There are pictures of them on facebook. I guess that is pretty much it for now! I am doing good! Tell Josh Happy Birthday! I am going to try to get a card in the mail but I don't know if it will be on time. Tell everyone I love them! I hope everything goes okay for Beverly.. tell them thank you for the birthday card! It was very much appreciated!
Love always,
